keyboard layouts

RUSSIANEASY is a minimal 1-1 transliteration map optimised for learners of Russian using major international keyboards.

  • It uses 1 Latin letter for 1 Russian letter reducing visual clutter, speeding up input and the subsequent transition to reading cyrillic
  • SEE RIGHT PANE FOR LINKS TO CHROME/FIREFOX APPS AND SETUP INSTRUCTIONS

Transliterated output is always as per Spanish / Brazilian map:

(brackets) = input alternative when typing**

Some Cyrillic pages use acute accents to indicate syllable stress, RUS1 converts them into circumflex to avoid confusion, and tilde when combined with an acute accent:
И́=Î Ы́=Ŷ Я́=Q̇ А́=Â Ю́=Ũ У́=Û О́=Ô Э́=Ẽ Е́=Ê

* Univocal means one latin letter per cyrillic letter, making it reversible, less cluttered and better for typing and reading.
